Hi there, I’m Chad Thompson.
If you’ve found your way here, you’re likely looking for a change, a new direction, or maybe just some support to navigate the challenges life throws your way. I understand because I’ve been there too. Before I discovered my path as a therapist, I spent over a decade in hospitality and entertainment. I loved working with people, but I often noticed something—a lot of folks were struggling with things they weren’t discussing. They felt stressed, anxious, disconnected, and just going through the motions. I knew there had to be a better way to help.
That realization sparked a journey of my own. Much like Frodo in Lord of the Rings, I recognized that everyone needs a Sam—a guide to support them through challenges, darkness, and the unknown.
I decided to dive into clinical social work, a field where I could offer more than just a listening ear—I could provide real guidance and support. Social work was the perfect fit because it’s versatile; it allows me to meet people exactly where they are and help them through whatever they’re facing.
My style is pretty laid-back and straightforward. I believe in being authentic and treating every client as a unique individual. My goal is to make you feel heard and understood, to help you find the answers that are already within you. I’m here to walk beside you as we work through whatever challenges you’re facing. Whether it’s anxiety, stress, or relationship issues, we’ll take it one step at a time.
I love using storytelling and movies in therapy because they offer a fresh perspective. Ever watched a movie and thought, “Wow, that’s exactly how I feel!”? That’s the kind of connection I aim for in my sessions. I’m inspired by characters from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, and many other films. These stories have a way of reflecting real-life struggles and triumphs, making the process of understanding and overcoming challenges more relatable.
Movies and storytelling have always been a big part of my life. I started exploring TV production back in middle school and continued through high school and college. Those experiences taught me the power of a good story. I believe that just like in the movies, we all have the potential to overcome our obstacles and become the hero of our own story.
Traveling has also shaped who I am today. From the busy streets of America to the serene landscapes of Europe and Asia, every place I’ve visited has given me a new perspective on life. These experiences, combined with my background in arts and communication, help me connect deeply with my clients. I understand the importance of seeing the world through different lenses.
The most fulfilling part of my job is seeing the transformation. There’s nothing like watching someone find their way out of the darkness and into the light.
It’s a process, and it takes time, but it’s worth every moment. I want my clients to leave our sessions with a sense of peace and the tools they need to create the life they want.
I’m excited about what the future holds for Calming Transformations Counseling. I see it growing into a space where more people can find support through individual therapy, group sessions, coaching, and a variety of holistic, integrative approaches—including creative arts and storytelling.
My goal is to provide multiple pathways for people to discover their calm, whether it’s through traditional therapy or more creative, personalized methods.
If you’re ready to begin your own journey of transformation, I’m here to help.
Therapy is a process, and it’s not always easy, but it can lead to incredible changes.
I’m looking forward to walking this path with you.
