At Calming Transformations Counseling, I understand that every hero’s journey is unique.
That’s why I offer a range of services designed to provide tailored support that meets your individual needs. Whether you’re seeking to overcome anxiety, depression, or life’s other challenges, my goal is to guide you toward clarity and healing.
Here’s a breakdown of the services I offer, along with details on rates and insurance options, including out-of-network benefits.
Life’s pressures can sometimes feel overwhelming, like a storm that never ends. My anxiety therapy is crafted to help you find your inner calm, using methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).
These sessions are designed to give you the tools to manage stress, reduce worry, and regain control of your life.
When life feels heavy, and hope seems out of reach, my depression therapy offers a way forward.
With a compassionate approach that integrates evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Activation, and Motivational Interviewing, I help you rediscover joy, purpose, and the strength to move towards a brighter tomorrow.
Set against the backdrop of nature, my Walk & Talk Therapy combines physical movement with the therapeutic process.
Whether we’re taking a peaceful stroll through a scenic environment or simply enjoying the calming presence of the outdoors, this unique approach fosters a relaxed atmosphere where you can open up, gain new perspectives, and find clarity.
Military life brings a set of challenges that only those who live it can truly understand. My therapy for military families is designed to address the specific needs of service members, veterans, and their loved ones.
I support families through the transitions of deployment, reintegration into civilian life, and the unique dynamics that come with military life. My goal is to provide a space for healing, connection, and resilience.
Whether you’re navigating a faith crisis or seeking to strengthen your spiritual connection, my sessions provide a compassionate and supportive environment for personal reflection and spiritual growth.
Designed specifically for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or those on the Mormon continuum, my therapy respects your faith while addressing personal challenges.
Whether you are experiencing a crisis of faith, balancing religious expectations with personal beliefs, or simply seeking guidance, I provide tailored support that honors your spiritual path.

While insurance can help make therapy more affordable, it’s important to consider the pros and cons of using it for mental health services.
Insurance coverage can substantially reduce out-of-pocket expenses for therapy sessions, making mental health care more affordable. This only begin after your yearly deductible is met.
With insurance, individuals who might not afford therapy otherwise can access professional help, promoting better mental health across different socioeconomic groups.
Insurance plans often have a network of approved therapists, providing a curated list of professionals to choose from.
Mental health parity laws require many insurance plans to offer coverage for mental health services comparable to medical services, improving access and affordability.
Knowing that therapy is covered can motivate individuals to seek help sooner rather than later, potentially preventing more severe mental health issues down the line.
You're generally restricted to therapists within your insurance network. Out-of-network therapists may either not be covered or come with higher out-of-pocket costs.
Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis and may request detailed treatment notes, which become part of your permanent medical record.
A recorded mental health diagnosis might affect future endeavors, such as obtaining life insurance or certain employment opportunities that require medical disclosures.
Insurance may limit the number of covered sessions or require authorization for continued therapy, potentially disrupting the therapeutic process.
Both you and your therapist may face bureaucratic hurdles, such as filing claims or appealing denied coverage, which can add stress.
Sharing treatment details with insurance companies can compromise the confidential nature of therapy.
Some therapeutic services, like couples counseling or certain alternative therapies, may not be covered under your plan.
There can be delays in insurance payments, which may affect your therapist’s willingness to accept insurance or could result in unexpected bills.
Extensive use of mental health benefits might contribute to higher insurance premiums over time.
Therapists who accept insurance may have less flexibility in tailoring treatment plans due to insurance guidelines, potentially affecting the quality of care.
We encourage you to review your insurance plan to understand your mental health benefits and explore any out-of-network coverage options. I’m happy to provide the necessary paperwork for you to submit claims to your provider.

Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to get a “Good Faith Estimate” that shows the cost of your medical or mental health care. By law, healthcare providers must give an estimate of costs if you don’t have insurance or aren’t using it, including for mental health therapy or psychotherapy services.
This estimate covers the total expected cost of non-emergency services, like therapy. You can ask your provider for this estimate before you book a service. If your bill is $400 or more than the estimate, you can dispute it. Keep a copy of the estimate for your records.
