This episode of WandaVision heavily focuses on Evan Peters’ version of Pietro Maximoff. He claims that Wanda brought him here to, “Come to town unexpectedly, create tension with the brother-in-law, stir up trouble with the rugrats, and ultimately give you grief. I mean, that’s what you wanted, isn’t it?” Pietro is not only aware of Wanda’s control over Westview, but he also claims to be impressed and wants to know how she’s doing it. He also encourages the boys to have fun on Halloween by using their newly-revealed superpowers. Tommy has super-speed like his uncle Pietro, while Billy displays magical abilities similar to Wanda.
Outside of the Hex, the agents at S.W.O.R.D. are at odds with how to deal with Wanda. Subsequently, Monica, Darcy, and Jimmy are kicked off the base. However, they manage to find a hiding spot on the base from which Darcy hacks into S.W.O.R.D. ‘s mainframe in order to discover what they are up to. They form a plan to get Monica back into Westview with the help of an unnamed friend.
Vision Changes the Plot
Meanwhile, Vision found an excuse to “write himself out” of the main plot for this episode. He uses this opportunity to find out what lies outside of Westview. As he gets closer to the edge of town, he discovers that some of the townspeople are stuck in loops of the same actions or barely moving at all. He comes upon their neighbor, Agnes, in her car, and “wakes” her up from Wanda’s control. Their conversation reveals that Vision has no idea what an Avenger is, and she tells him that he’s supposed to be dead. In his confusion, Vision pushes forward and begins to force his way out of the Hex. As he tries to leave, his body begins to disintegrate.
Back in the town square, Wanda and Pietro are discussing Westview; Wanda has no recollection of how they got here, only that before this she was experiencing “endless nothingness.” They are interrupted by Billy, who tells his mother that he can feel that Vision is dying. Wanda uses her powers to expand the Hex, bringing Vision back into its protection in addition to pulling in the entire S.W.O.R.D. base, including Darcy.
The truth is something that needs to be expressed, especially when we are in times of need. Vision wanted the truth so he went after it. Darcy wanted to know what S.W.O.R.D. was really up to, so see went digging for it. Sometimes it takes effort to discover the truth. What will we discover in the next episode?
